Default 41st Infantry Battalion (Byron Scottish) hat badge -For comments

G'day all , hope all is well ,

Came across a 41st Infantry Battalion (Byron Scottish) hat badge -1948 to 1953 , good weight to it and good detail , no makers name but belive some of these were not marked .

Is this one genuine or reproduction ?

im not sure about yours but mine is different in several ways.
mine is white metal with a frosted look to the front. yours looks chrome plated. even your lugs look plated. (maybe some manufacturers did this?)
mine is maker named (yes probably there were some with no maker)
I have seen some cast copies of these and they do weigh more and do feel thicker. so when you say good weight to it that worries me. mine weighs 37gm.
I suppose the bottom line is I wouldn't buy it for my collection.
just my opinion. im sure there are many others on here with far more expertise than me.

Thanks bc , just put it on the digital scales and it was 39.9 grams , this one has got me stumped !
