Default Queen’s Royal Irish Hussars Officer’s Forage Cap

Hi

I just received this officer's forage cap.

According to me, it is a Queen's Royal Irish Hussars

Black patent leather peak edged in gold bullion and thin black chinstrap held in place by plain gilt half ball buttons.

The (bullion embroidered) cap badge is attached by two metalic lugs/pins. A piece of cotton is stuck inside.

I don't know what means "ANB" inside?

Don't hesitate to make any comments / remarks on it.

A Field Officer's cap made by Herbert & Johnson (not that I can make out details of the label).
"ANB" will be the officers initials, others on the forum may be able to identify who from Army Lists.

Is the strap of leather or the later plastic?
The piece of cotton is a stiffener or pad to protect against the badges fittings.

Hi

Indeed, the chinstrap is in plastic (and not in leather)
