Yes, it is a lovely badge and one of my earliest purchases, from the 60s. Believe it or not, it spent a considerable time on display at a local junk shop, as then no one, including me, knew what it was. I was more interested in trying to amass the full line-up of British Regiments cap badges and as the market had nothing to offer at the time I offhandedly decided to buy it - a decision I never regretted. For the record, it is K&K 1406.

Thanks GTB,

I love stories like that. It's great fun to discover a new badge and all these years later there are still little treasures to find.

Here is my latest find...I don't have a concrete identification as yet but I believe it to be an un-official/locally made badge to Steinaecker's Horse.

Cheerio,

Roy

Nice acquisition. Research is half the fun of collecting. Perseverance also pays.

All the best

Hi Gents,

Decide to take a little down time today from work, so thought it would be nice to start putting my badges in an album to share.

Hi Gents,

Here is my latest addition - Orpen's Light Horse - raised in early 1900 by Major Orpen, 300 strong and saw service in the far west of the Cape Colony.

If anyone has any other examples to this they would be willing to share, I would love to see them.

Cheerio,

Roy

Hello Chaps,

Here is my latest; Kitcheners Horse (Owen 1696).

Does anyone know the reasoning behind the double K?

Cheerio,

Roy
