Messenger titles
I have been collecting Civil Defence Messenger titles for a while but now this red version has come my way, could it be NFS?

Before CD badges became a standard yellow on blue the breast badge and the optional local authority markings were red on blue.
Blue battledress for the CD began to appear in March 1941 but official titles did not appear until that September and I'm more inclined to suggest that the red on blue Messenger title was an unofficial item for CD from that period. The NFS did have messengers but I have never seen evidence of them wearing titles. Happy to be proved wrong. Jon |

Have had this messenger flash for ages is it similar to those mentioned it does not look like it but would be interested to know pics are poor quality I am afraid.. They look like a hotel type of flash.
