Another photograph from the same source as the DCLI DR. These appear to be RAF personnel but what is the badge worn on the sleeve?

Perhaps something like in the attached, the person in the second picture appears to be wearing a First Class Cadet star.

I would agree with Peter. The shoulder title is the old style (not quite sure of when these were phased out), as later on it was the traditional curved style saying 'Air Training Corps', with the squadron number as a small (separate) square underneath.
