This one has me stumped! OTC, CCF or What? - British & Commonwealth Military Badge Forum

Can anyone help with this one? I thought it was an OTC/CCF badge but cannot find it in K&K. I know I have seen a similar coat of arms before? But ID still alludes me!

Small (28 x 30 mm) Whitemetal cap badge with a slider fitting!

Don't know the unit but the Coat of Arms appears to be that of the City of Bradford. Hope this helps.

Could this be a tram workers or early council employee,s badge ? have a similar one from Ashton-u-Lyne which was a Council Tramways badge but it is lugged not slidered.Bob.

Not in the article" Badges of the Officers Training Corps" by E.J. Martin -Journal of the Society for Army Historical Research Spring 1938 and not Bradford Grammar School ( Rawlings no 260).

Still leaves a lot of OTC/ Cadet units that are not mentioned in either of the above.

As has been suggested could be a civic badge and not military.

Hate to break the spell but I think its possibly a Bradford City Tramways or Omnibus badge see 'British Tramway Company Buttons and Badges' website http://www.birches.plus.com/page148/...1/page191.html for a collar example.

I believe this badge was on ebay with some others or there was one like it, from the length of the slider I wonder if something has been removed from the bottom of the badge.

Same badge in gold anodised is up on e..y at the moment. Advertised as a "Bradford School ACF/CCF ?" .

Would you find a tramways badge in gold anodised ?

The lugged badge design was certainly worn by the Tramways company. It is not a CCF badge.

There are metal versions of the badge design for caps but these are not tramways badges nor CCF/OTC either. I wrote to the owner of the tramways site last year and he was quite certain that they were not worn a Tramways hat badges.

Same badge andy definately. But anodised. No doubt someone will pay a fortune for it, only to find its not what they think it is.

The successor o Bradford Tramway Corporation; Bradford Trolleybus operated until 1971, so it's feasible that they would have used an AA lugged coat of arms badge.
