Default Iraq Royal Police Badge ?

This badge came from Iraq, with a note saying its a Iraq Royal Police Badge.
I can not find any reference to it.
On the reverse of the crown the figure "VMB"
Very large for a cap hat badge W80mm x H95mm

It is a helmet badge used during the period when Iraq had a King.

Dave,
Thank you for that information.
So I can now rest assured its a Iraq Royal Police Helmet Plate (Pre 1958, Faisal II of Iraq).

Cheers,
Freddy

Freddy,

The screw posts could possibly indicate use on an Officers cross belt. That said, the Iraq Police did at one time wear helmets, whether the fittings differed on the helmet badges I'm unsure. I hope this is helpful.

Dave.

For the avoidance of doubt the centre does indeed read Iraq Police, although the word Iraq is a real challenge, even when you know what it says.

Default Iraqi Kingdom Policeman's Headdress badge

If you are interested in Iraqi badges there are a couple of books on the badges and patches. About 85 percent is on patches. The badge is definitely Iraqi Kingdom Police. The translation inside the star is Iraq Police according to the book. The version shown in the book is a cast badge with two lugs. The books are Iraqi Militaria Identification Guide with Translations by Robert Missling. There is Vol II also. All in colour but plastic spine ring binder. I am mainly interested in the kingdom badges and it does not have a very good coverage for those items.

Thank you for this of information.

This badge seems to be die stamped, the detail on the reverse suggests this, and the tinny metal.

The reverse of the crown has the initials "VMB", would this be the maker, and who is the maker. As they are not arabic, I suppose we can assume the badge was made else where.
