Default My new WW1 officers badge

Hi all
Here is a new badge for the collection.
A true WW1 officers cap badge. It has all the characteristics you would expect to see from a British made item.
Great quality, bronze with prongs, voided design and a recognized manufacturers mark from a company that produced officers badges.
As you can probably gather, I'm pretty happy.
Enjoy

This pattern cap/collar badge is a distinctive type. I have seen them in black, brown oxy and gilt/ brass. No doubt they were WW1 officer private purchase.
There is a famous picture of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith wearing them in a famous WW1 picture. You might find the picture on Google if you look.

thanks kingsley
i have a mate with an AFC uniform with this type collar in gilt, attached to the collar with lugs.
given this has blades, wouldnt it be classed as a cap badge rather than collar although it is the same size?

hi jack
will try and post pics of the uniform as soon as I get the ok from the owner. im sure he will be ok with it but just want to make sure.
hi Jas, thanks for the pic but I don't think its the bronze OSD badge being worn like the one I have. I think its the same design but gilt version as on this AFC uniform Jack wants to see.
hopefully I will get the pics up asap

hi all
sorry for the poor pics but they were taken on an old phone a few years back.
will try and get better pics if he ever gets the uniform out to show.
the only pic I don't have is the uniform also has straight, hallmarked silver Australia titles

Default Small officer's rising sun cap badge

No idea where this image came from, so apologies now if it's owned or copyright. I think it proves that the small badge was worn in the cap. I've always kept it in the hope of getting one one day.
