In 1998-1999 The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards converted to the Challenger 2 Main Battle Tank. To commemorate this the manufacturers intended that a small cloth badge would be worn on the left sleeve of the Crewman Suit by those who successfully completed the conversion course. A quantity of the badges were handed over to the Quartermaster for issue to the soldiers, however, a change of Commanding Officer and operational requirements ensured that the badges stayed where they were placed, in a draw in the Regimental Quartermaster Sergeants office. It is doubtful if any of the badges were ever issued or worn.

However since then some of the badges may have been discovered and used (worn) for another reason that I do not know of.
