Griff,
that's the ones, there is also a "Guards" set which must have been om a smaller scale as info on them is very elusive!! I'll track it down, I can remember the doubters here on the Forum when I first mentioned the set you show images of?

Andy

I have tried to provide members with complete information on the Birmingham Mint Great British Regiments set in my album http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...hp?albumid=767.

If properly described they should sell on eBay for less than £5 each. However, when mis-described as officers' badges or as "staybrite" then the sky is the limit. A Canadian dealer is currently listing three examples on his website from 30 to 120 dollars each.

Tim

PS the badges are NOT sterling silver although the medallions are

Tim... Thanks for the info... it looks as if I got a bit of a bargin... I saw the 3 badges you referred to and thought I'd hit the jackpot but I'm happy at 5 Pounds a piece.... Now I've got something else to look for as I need 14 more to complete the set.... Jim

Jim,
I've a few available;

Herts & Beds - Sil & En
King's Own - Sil (also comes in OSD Bz finish)
Queen's Surrey - Gilt

They make quite a nice display when framed!

I picked up a lugged silver coloured Royal Welsh Fusiliers badge today which I thought might be part of the Birmingham Mint set but it does not appear on the list of 53 badges included in the original collection. Was there a second set featuring the RWF? Were any of the badges issued with lugs/loops rather than sliders?

There is no RWF badge in the original set and all badges have sliders to fit into the special display case with the accompanying medallions. Apart from the Guards set that Andy has posted about I am not aware of any other Birmingham Mint additional badges.

Thank you for the update. I will post a picture of the RWF badge tomorrow when it is light enough to photograph it.

For all those who thought I'd lost the plot, here is an image of some of the Guards B'Ham Mint badges (Thanks Paul!)!

Some are obviously missing or have been replace/gap filled?

They're very dull to my mind. Don't stir me one jot, tittle or iota.
