King's Royal Rifle Corps?
I am not entirely sure that these are soldiers of the K.R.R.C., possibly because the sunlight on the clearest badge has altered is appearance. The photograph was taken in Leeds, Yorkshire.

Possibly, but im not sure on the Officer in the sidehat. His badge doesnt look like a bugle horn. I think he could be QVR ,his badge would be the.crown over St George and the.dragon.

Are they on the butts of a rifle range?

I am going to go with the KRRC. The officer boss badge looks more in line with that than the QVR to my eye.

I think it’s probably a road, or railway, up on an embankment behind them, the overhead lights appear typical.

My old digital camera has given up he ghost and the one that I am using now is nowhere near as sharp when it comes to fine detail. The officer wearing the beret definitely has the bugle of a rifle regiment on his boss. |

Definately ,the beret is a bugle horn. The side hat doesnt look bugle shaped even out of.focus

I think that on the side hat the boss has twisted and the horn is vertical rather than horizontal, so we are looking at it from a strange angle.
