Gents,

Does anyone happen to know what hat badge the members of the 5th Queensland Imperial Bushmen contingent wore in South Africa during the Boer War?

I'm trying to track one down for a frame.

Would it have been the Qld Defence Force or QMI hat badge?

Hi Mick,

I once saw a large framed photograph of a Boer war soldier in an antique shop and he had a clear QIB cap badge, I passed the lead on to Paul Newton in Brisbane who bought it and he said it had the soldiers name on the back and he was in the QIB Boer war contingent. He thanks me to this day!

Give Paul a call, not sure if he is a member of the Forum, he is still collecting and had a stall at the last Brisbane Arms Fair, cheers Dean.

I was sent this picture of a QIB hat or maybe a collar badge.

It's certainly one I have never seen in any badge book.

Hi, I can't add anything regarding what badge was worn, but I have just seen some QIB titles on e-bay marked as Boer War and on the same guys site is a Cap Badge marked as Boer War Queensland Imperial Bushman. http://cgi.ebay.com/AUSTRALIA-BOER-W...item2c5e7d5bfc . if this helps, then grand, if not oh well....
