Default Curious 'Great Britain' RAF mudguards

Whilst being familiar with the wide variety of different identifier 'mudguard' badges worn on WW2 RAF Service Dress tunics & BD blouses, I was very puzzled by a pair of "Great Britain" cloth national mudguard badges I spotted on Ebay.

So I just had to buy them.

Any theories as to why they exist?

Glad to be hear, many thanks for the welcome.

I can bring much to the forum in respect of clarity and insights into RAF/RFC badging and uniforms, and hope to learn much myself regarding all other aspects of badge history and collecting.

May I ask if I'll need to resubmit my earlier post regarding the 'Mess Dress' shoulder-boards? Has the forum software swallowed it up?

Thanks!

I suspect it may not quite be fully-approved, as I've posted plenty-more than has appeared...

I believe they were worn by RAF personnel undergoing flying training in the USA.

Hello Harlequin. For new members, initial posts require approval. Should be good to go now.
In reference to the shoulder titles, Great Britain titles were worn in Canada by British personnel training in the BCATP.
