Default Marples and Beasley

I have just bought a UDR beret badge and its marked Marples and Beasley
Birmingham I am not up to speed on this company any info would help.

A long established company who ceased trading in the 1990's.

Most metal badges (if not all) marked with this company on the slider are duds.

If I remember right, an officers badge maker mark only ? If you have a quick search on some older threads on the subject it should show the thoughts on the maker mark

Marples and Beasley A/A cap badges are relatively scarce (in the amount of commissions undertaken) and all are deemed to be good.

That has always been my understanding too, you do encounter this particular manufacturer from time to time on sealed pattern boards.

Having a look at my A/A badge's just Corps & Services, I have only 6 with MARPLES & BEASLEY BIRMINGHAM mark. They are
AAC, REME, SASC, WRAC, RAOC 1pc & RAOC 2pc.
As Chris said these are relatively scarce badge's.

Just obtained a Queen,s regiment. Top end price wise for a common badge ,but fine for scarce marked slider £8.00
