Hi, thanks Mike, interesting. Next question, did RSG actually wear them? Griff, thanks but I don't think it is a WW1 slip-on and WW2 it was the other way around which is my query really. Was it a mistake or is it some other unit that I don't know of, thanks again to you both and best wishes Mike

Mike

This is my reference chart.... and that kings crown looks pre WW2 to me.

* That pink colour is a faded red.

My first thought was that this could possible be a flash worn by one of the Indian Cavalry Regiments post-mechanisation. There's an unclear image in The Indian Army and the King's Enemies 1900-1947 of an RTR style slip on (possibly Maroon/Dark Blue/French Grey/Dark Blue/Maroon worn by 6 DCO Lancers, 8 Indian Div in Italy and a flash in unknown colours (possibly Grey/Maroon) worn by the CIH (4 Indian Div) (Below)). There will have been many others, but I don't know if they have ever been recorded. Mike

Hi Mike, maybe a project. Ashok's "Izzat" only gives facing colours, but maybe that would be a start. What about "Waring's"? I have another slip-on which I think is Indian, I'll post it later in the week, best wishes Mike
