N°2 Dress jacket
A relationship has bought this uniform. May be Queen's Regiment or PWRR. There was a Sam Brown belt too. I don't know if they go together. Would it be possible to confirm the regiment and date the set. Thank you.

Thanks. Have both regiments the same collar badges and buttons ? If so, how to know the difference ? Who wear the belt ? Officer, NCOs ?

Odd looking belt, not a British Army "Sam Browne" with that buckle?
Also something strange about the jacket button arrangement and lower pocket flaps. H E Glover was an Aldershot based military tailor from 1930 - 1991. Now Glover & Riding of Aldershot and Bulford Camp, Wiltshire. Tim

I believe the collar badge was for 3rd Bn. Home Counties Bde and the button shown depicted Queen' Royal West Surrey Regiment and the East Surrey Regiment who were the 1st. Bn.

The collars and buttons are the bronze Queens Regt ones which were then used by the PWRR

the belt is much older than the jacket and is not the pattern issued to officers in the last 30 years or so. FAD has only been issued for the last 7 or so years and the belt is much older. The jacket is typical of an officers jacket for the PWRR from 1990-200s.
The button looks odd because it has a button that sits below the belt buckle. The PWRR wore a leather Sam Browne belt or a cloth one when not wearing 'leathers and medals.' Either case the button needed to be a flat one as a regtl pattern one would obstruct the belt and stop it sitting flat. |

Queens Royal Surrey Regt button design had the crown, lamb and star without the circular backing to the lamb which the Queens Regt had and the Princess of Wales's Regt have.

Thanks Leigh,
A long time has passed since the early 60's. I knew more about the Units attached than the changes to the buttons and collar dogs. I knew the cap badge changed when the Royal Hampshire Regiment amalgamated with the Queen's Division. Arthur |

Hey, I remember a lady showing me a photo of her son in the Princess of Wales's Regiment and me looking at the cap badge and trying to persuade her that he was in the Queen's Regiment ...........
