Default Duke of Lancaster's Regiment

I have found a LANCS jacket. Everything seems alright : lanyard, arm badge, collar badges, buttons with Fleur de Lis. I think the medal ribbon is UNFICYP, normal for a regiment which has a battalion in Cyprus.

It is totally correct, Laurent. It is even the most recent pattern, known during development as "Future Army Dress" (FAD). The main feature is a superior quality (and thus expensive) 100% wool cloth known as 'Guards (Pattern) Barathea' that was previously the privilege of officers only in those regiments that chose it. It was/is a noticeably more brown shade of khaki. A further feature is that it is now worn with a pale khaki shade of shirt, that was also once the mark of a commissioned officer (in most but not all regiments - some wore a brown shade).

Yes Toby, the pale and dark shirt. A lot of the cavalry regts seem to be wearing the light coloured shirt and tie. I always remember that Guards Officers and RWF Officers always wore a very dark shirt, almost the same shade as the tie

Yes, Guards, RWF, RRW, and a few others wore the brown shirt to complement their barathea uniform. Conversely RGJ, Queen's, QLR, KOBR and many others wore the pale shirt.
