Default ROYAL ORDNANCE FACTORIES

I have just brought a lapel badge for the ROYAL ORDNANCE FACTORY No 14 (number on rear 765) which I have googled and come up with ROF No 14 Ruddington in Nottinghamshire. On a dealers site, Sa*** Bos*** badges she shows it as ROF No 14 ROTHERHAM in Yorkshire.
Could any forum member confirm which is correct for me please??
The seller could not id the factory and it is a button hole type.

Mike, thanks for this, I already have this list. Ruddington is shown as ROF No 14 but Sa*** Bos*** on her badge dealer site shows it as ROTHERHAM.
I have contacted the Ruddington parish council and they have sent me a link to ROF No 14 Ruddington so I am happy to name my badge as so.
Here is the link if anyone is interested:-

Hi Jerry

Just out of curiousity was the 'Poole' ROF located at Holton Heath, near Wareham? In the 70's my dad worked at an EMI factory on the former Admiralty ordnance site there.

As a matter of interest Radway Green ( No.13 ) is at Alsager which is considerably nearer Crewe than it is to Macclesfield.

All the badge's are the same with ROYAL ORDNANCE FACTORY around edge and just the number changed. ROYAL ARSENAL WOOLWICH badge's had this title around edge and ROYAL SMALL ARMS FACTORY had a different badge as did COVENTRY ORDNANCE WORKS. There may have been other types of badge.

'Poole' ROF was located in Sopers Lane, Poole. It later became 'Plessey' and is now 'Siemens'. Some of the site has now been sold off. Holten Heath was a WW1 Cordite Factory.

I have only just joined this group so apologies if you already know all this.

Thank you, much appreciated - I grew up in Upton so I know where you're talking about: Fleetsbridge/Waterloo.

Not at all, I wasn't aware of that and appreciate you taking the time to make the note.

My great uncle Dr Egbert Percy Booth managed Royal Ordnance Factory No 10, Hooton during WW2, so this confirms your No 10 above. Today I found a cigar box of his with an engraved plate inside which reads:
Presented To
Dr Egbert P Booth DSc, PhD, MI Mech E
By the staff of the
Royal Ordnance Factory
Ellesmere Port
As a token of
Affection and esteem
May 1943
This caused me some confusion, but it seems Ellesmere Port and Hooton are one place, is that correct?
He only married my mother's mother's sister in 1946, but Aunt Ann had been his HR officer at the factory during the war.

Default Royal Ordnance Factory 10 badge

I have just received the badge which must have belonged to my great uncle Dr Egbert Percy Booth who was in charge of Roften, or Royal Ordnance Factory 10

Stamped on the back is the number 720. The badge was made by the firm T.L.M. Ltd Birmingham.

Along with it came a silver plate which refers to Roften being in Hooton, whereas the plate in the cigar box refers to Ellesmere Port, but I presume from the comments that that is the same thing.

Another badge came with it, his Birmingham Special Constabulary Reserve badge, serial number 1000
