Default Slide Markings

I have a pair of WW2 era British Indian Army Officer rank slides with the following ink markings on the back ..l.

I thought this may be a Hindi (or other language) numbering but don't really know, can anyone help please?

Thank you for looking, Keith

It may not be morse code at all but the Mark of the owner so they don't get mixed up with someone else's as the person doing the washing ironing and looking after the officer's kit etc may not be able to read their own language never mind English.

I was going to suggest a laundry mark as well. Done in permanent ink and some simple code known to the employees of whatever establishment was responsible for cleaning the officers' uniforms. So perhaps not Morse code.

If it were Morse for F it would be ..-. not ..|.

I go with insignificant coding for a particular officer for someone who cannot read, the epaulet probably had the same marking!
