Default Highland Light Infantry glengarry

I bought some times ago this glengarry to a private seller living in Normandy. I have read that the 1st battalion landed in Normandy in june 1944. The glengarry
seems to have been through a lot. May be a souvenir of the Allied armies kept in the famlily. Do you think it plausible (cap badge pattern, manufacturing of the glengarry) ? Thank you

Has it been slashed or cut- then repaired? If so- may not be natural damage possible sign clothing has been scrapped then repaired for the surplus market. Regards, Paul.
