Default Lodz Ghetto

It's similar to those worn by the Ordnungsdienst (ghetto police) in Lodz.

Default

I would describe it as a star rather than a "Star of David".

By mid-1941 nearly all the Jews of occupied Poland had been forced into these overcrowded slums. Ghettos were also set up in the newly conquered areas of the Soviet Union. The Nazis forced Jewish leaders to form councils (Judenraete) to run the ghettos and to carry out their orders. These councils were ordered to organise ghetto police forces known as the Jewish Ghetto Police (Jüdischer Ordnungsdienst). Their duties included polcing the ghetto perimetres to ensure that no one left or entered the ghetto without the correct permits. The cap was part of the uniform worn by the Ghetto Police.
