Death: 25 September 1915, Killed in Battle of Loos, Western Front. Son of Lt. Col. James Philip Sparling (Indian Army) and of Lucy Mary Sparling (nee Ryan),his wife,of 11,Kingsley Terrace,Westward Ho,Devon.
