Default Household Cavalry perhaps not!

I wonder what the forum's thoughts are on this one? Looks to me like the centre has been snipped out of a Royal Engineers badge at some time, and is 'now' a Household Cavalry badge!
Just my opinion.
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/352045236632
Tony.

I would agree Tony. Doesn't look like Household Cavalry to me either.

Whatever it is, it looks like an original badge to me and certainly not of two part construction as suggested.

The pin also appears original to the badge.

regards

Simon GvR Royal Engineers ORs Badges were never two part construction (to the best of my knowledge) , I was suggesting it has been cut from an all GM cap badge.
Cheers Tony.

I'd have to agree with you there, Tony. Looks to be a Royal Engineers chop-job!

Simon no worries
Leigh I like your suggestion of a 'cut down' sweetheart badge.
Cheers Tony.

If you look at the back you'll see the garter/circle is uneven where the leaves should be and even at the top towards where it meets the crown.

There has been a few of these floating about on ebay. As Tony said earlier, some look like the centre from an RE badge rather than the fatter garter of the Household Cavalry.

Good spot. I had only noticed it lacked the downward end of the garter/strap. Regards, Paul.
