First one is a super badge but strictly speaking not the 17th County of London Regt. The Tower Hamlet Rifles was post the 1938 reform which did away with the numbered London regt Bns and was TF bn of the Rifle Brigade.

One of the rarer ones because of the Bns' significant losses in 1941. The actual RB badge was so similar that I doubt the Tower Hamlets one was produced in large numbers.

The second badge is the 17th Bn and looks fine for the 1908 pattern badge. The common copies have an out of proportion tablet.

Hello Darren,

I concur with Alan's appraisals of your badges and FYI, here are some for comparison, if interested:

Hi guys
I'm no expert and I do like the first badge but is that a die flaw? on badge 2 where the plinth attaches to the cross top right side? Looks unusual to me and I couldn't see it on the other examples shown in the album?
Just out of interest?
Bc
