Default Liverpool Scottish cap badge

Hi Guys,
Help wanted with this early Liverpool Scottish cap badge. It's a solid 2 piece badge but with very strange lugs!
I'm tempted to believe it is a restrike unless any members can inform me otherwise. Did the Liverpool Scottish ever wear a bonnet badge with such strange lugs? or is this just a very obvious restrike?

Many Thanks
UKbrits

I have had Liverpool Scottish glengarry badges with that type of fitting in the past.

I also have a Black Watch badge with one ( the second lug is missing )

Hello UKbrits,

I have two Scottish badges with similar lugs to yours, both of which look like good, strong and solid badges, hopefully original.

Regards Alan Y.

I have a WW2 era RScots badge which has these lugs with undoubtable provenance.

I have one with hexagonal lugs (like ST lugs). I've also seen one with lugs with feet.
I think I've seen lugs like your's elsewhere but not on a Lpl Sc ! Let me know if you want to move it on !
