Gurkha help please
Can any member confirm if the backing on the 6th badge is issue or a collector embellishment?
Also any idea of the maker of the 3rd badge, looks UK made, dark toning illustrates crown of different metal THANKS |

The 6th Gurkha looks to be a HOME made boss/backing for the badge .It should be as K&K 2075 as far as I know.

Not collector done?
Thanks, the dealer had 2 with this OLD backing glued to the brass plate, now dried out & loose - both badges being different, but this the more attractive example.

The 6th Badge, is a cap badge worn by all ranks on the Kilmarnock cap and the beret between 1950 > 1960. As far as I'm aware the Regt never wore a back backing of any description. So I think you are safe to assume that the cloth has been put there for display embellishment. As for the 3rd - something of a curio but the main body of the back looks very much like a reproduction - but then why go to the trouble of replacing the crown? Hope this helps Tim.
