Smile Todays finds

I picked these up on a car boot sale today, they may be offered in the future as I think I have the RAF badges, the American Para has no top scroll, does anyone know if it was worn without it?

The large triangle is I think possibly foreign, does anyone know what it is for certain.

Regards Rob

Large triangle looks like a German mine field warning flag...

Yep , (I have 3 of them), they were fitted to long wire pins & planted in the ground. They were carried across the back in a sort of quiver.
WWII German & post WWII East German.

Smile Mine Field warning

Thanks for the confirmation chaps, I did not know that these were used by the East Germans, William Tobin used to sell these for half a crown back in the early sixties.
Any idea about the US Para badge?

Bill Tobin, New Kent Road, the old basement "shop" - that's where I got my first one innit.

Cool Nostalgia being a thing of the past . . !

Leigh, if only we could go back to those days, it was well worth the trip!

Oh yes, a bus trip down from The Old Kent Road Gasworks, WWII German helmets for a £1.50, British cap badges 12 1/2p.
The "what can I get with five quid?" burning a hole in your pocket, got to spend it on something ( that's how I've ended up with a 2 x 4 metres German navy Reichsdienstflagge that's spent forty odd years living in a carrier bag in the garage).
