Default Liverpool Councils respect for the fallen?

On Remembrance Sunday the Cenotaph on the plateau outside St Georges Hall was surrounded by veterans, there to remember the fallen. When we marched off, the base of the Cenotaph was surrounded by poppy wreaths, placed there in honour of those who gave their lives in war.

Today, all the wreaths have been removed, and the Cenotaph is now surrounded by Christmas market hut's, and a large wheel.

It appears that Liverpool Council are more interested in making money, than remembering those who have given their lives during war.

What a disgrace.

Tomorrow morning, I will be tidying the wreaths and placing the windblown ones back on the memorial in one of my parks. We leave them in place for as long as we possibly can.

A car in front of me, on Monday, stopped in the pouring rain to retrieve a blown wreath and take it back to its place on the Benfleet War Memorial.

Such different attitudes.
