Musketry badge
Good afternoon
Can anyone tell me a little about this, what I presume to be a proficiency badge. It may be a marksman's arm badge? The lugs look like an economy measure maybe? Is it British and what probable date would it be? Thanks Martyn Last edited by Martyn123; 02-10-17 at 03:44 PM. |

It is British and an old timer at that. It was worn on the lower left sleeve on OR's service dress (usually). Those type of lugs are a just a lesser seen variant, not an economy measure as far as I understand.

Many thanks. What date would it likely be?

I think it is likely from the ww1 era.

This is not my field, except that the lugs do not look British to me.
And is this not virtually identical to the badges you can buy at Bisley etc today? Eddie |
