Default SA Co, London backmark

Hi. I recently picked up a couple of military buttons with the backmark "SA Co. London". The buttons have the Imperial Crown (QVC) on them,so they are pre 1901. I can't seem to find any reference to this company. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this company?

Hello Dave

Sorry, another backmark I have not come across. I have no record of it and I can't find any appropriate reference to the company. Might be a button maker or just a tailor/outfitter, of course.

No help but at least it will bump the thread!

Any chance of photos, front and back, they might help narrow a date a little.

Regards
Roger

Hello Dave

Thanks for posting the photos.

The two 'VR' buttons may not be military, so the backmark could relate to a tailor/outfitter who supplied the police, perhaps, or civilian customers, rather than the military. The fact that the third button with the same backmark is a police button possibly supports this theory.

I shall have another look and see if anything comes up.

Regards
Roger
