Hi Mark, in my opinion, it's no good. The middle bird should not be 'falling over'

Cheers, Tim

PS look at post 32 in this thread to see what I mean. cheers.

Hi Tim,
disagree my friend, i don`t think you can dismiss it straight away. Take your point about the middle budgie should be more upright but if you look at the pirch, its distorted and has pushed the budgies nose down. Besides having the signs of a good badge i know the seller who happens to be a forum member and he knows his stuff when it comes to West Yorks units. If you have a look at this album http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...mid=175&page=3 you will see a selection of good, bad and plain bloody ugly Leeds Pals.

cheers, Dave

Also has the fat dots and rams horn (viewers right) protruding above the fleece, which along with the drunk budgie are noted signs of a fake. Although I would say that it doesn’t appear to be from the common fake die - different dot pattern etc. However still not a badge I’d be comfortable enough with to buy, just my opinion.

Default Leeds pals

Cheers Guys...as I stated in original post, seller is not 100% positive about the badge himself, so I am not trying to bring any disrepute towards him and he is leaving choice to the buyer. I will pass on this one and hope one turns up on the forum...

Mark

Hi Dave,

I take your points, and I am certainly no expert by any stretch. Being able to have a healthy discussion about it is what the Forum should be all about. I suppose it fits into a 'could be/could be not' area. Also nice to see the seller being upfront about it, and certainly no disrespect intended , just how I viewed it.

Cheers, Tim

Compare the badge with one being sold as `genuine`, they omit to add its genuine cr*p rather than a genuine Leeds Pals badge. They must have a box full of this rubbish as they always have it listed. Disregarding the fact its a cast badge which was never issued, it uses the Leeds Coat of arms for municipal use, the Leeds Pals badge was different, Have contacted the seller numerous times and have receive a polite acknowledgement but no action. Reported to ebay but fell on deaf ears!

definitely a seller to avoid, even more so given they have been made aware of the issue. Like our old friend the badge 'bloke', just out to deceive and cheat.

Cheers, Tim
