After 2 years looking I finally found one. Bearded and with the jewels in the coronet just like the Pals double scroll one.
I would like to think that it was one of the single scroll badges bought by the Pals Bns to wear in their blue sidecaps in early 1915 but doubt I shall ever prove it. Still a nice non sealed pattern variation. |

Here it is against a Warcs Pals badge.
It appears to be the same die but with a different scroll. Shame the slider has been cut down. Last edited by Alan O; 18-07-14 at 10:19 AM. |

From what I see, the antelope are made from two different dies, unless it is just the perspective of the photo.
tale a look at the ear and th chain near the rear leg. Phil

I am not sure same die either. Rear legs muscle definition missing and this amy be due to polishing but not convinced.

These are my varieties of Warwickshire badges:
Pals, TF w/m, 2 x standard with minor die variances, 2 bearded (my 'spare' one has a broken leg but whose head has not been bent). |

Came across this. Go to the front page of the tribute supplement and enlarge it. It shows one of the Pals Bns with their self sourced uniforms and equipment. There are both the distinctive Pals double scroll cap badges and also single scroll badges in use on peaked caps. Last edited by Alan O; 14-10-14 at 03:12 PM. |
