Will the WW2 Queen's Own Rifle's badge stand up?

Sorting through some badge acquisitions, I found a couple of Queen's Own Rifles cap badges. Both are from Second World War sources, not post war. Completely different dies, and completely different badges. Yet Mazeas 1920-1950 only shows one variety, and from the book, the WW2 pattern appears to be the one on the left. The one on the right is a lighter metal, and appears to be the example of the badge listed in Mazeas Pre-1914 as MM28.
The QOR was one of a few regiments that was on a two battalion establishment between the wars, and I wonder how long the Pre-1914 badge was on issue? Or, was Mazeas in error when he put that badge in the Pre-1914 book? Or, is there some other explanation?
Bottom line, what I thought was a trader is now a keeper.

I've always been puzzled with trying to date these badges... would be nice if some QOR specialist would jump in with some tips.... I've probably walked away from some good bargins because of lack of knowledge and confidence... Jim

Hello Recce, Thanks for the image of the QOR badge. It appears to be the MM28 die badge, not the M7 king's crown era badge. But, the badge is the post war period, probably late 50's or early 60's with that style of slider. Now, that raises the question, if the badge is post war, but appears to be the same die as the pre-1914 badge, were the dies kept and re-used? Rather than the possibility of being worn out and discarded?
Not sure why you posted the images of the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa badge?

Holla Mr Bill! Was my Pleasure and to make you think when I looked at your QOR Badge on the Right I noticed yours had no Slider but this one did and it's identical, I checked both for minutes.

I think your right they kept it, instead of discarding the Die and recasted the Badge years later. Sliders on WWI Badges???

I put my Recce Hat on, what if the pines attachments broke of and someone added the slider I'll contact the individual and ask for a picture of the back.
