Default Isle of Man badge- Cadets or Scouts or both ?

The late Gary Williams who was a keen collector of cloth badges ( and member of the Military Heraldry Society ) kindly let me photograph those of his badges that had a north west and Isle of Man connection.

A picture of his Isle of Man ACF badge is the first picture below. I have ( thanks to member Paul Spellman) obtained a similar badge but with the Isle of Man title on it ( second photo ).

There is a possibility that the second badge was worn by ( boy) Scouts on the Island ,possibly as well as by Army Cadets.

Anything anyone can tell me about either badge would be much appreciated, I had a similar query some time ago but cannot remember the outcome.

Thanks in advance.

P.B.

Hi Peter,

I can confirm that both varieties were definitely worn by boy scouts, although the cadet options I cant comment on. The attached picture is from the Chief Scouts visit to the Island in 1954, its not very clear but the scouts in question are wearing the un-named version of the badge you have posted. I am still looking for better images and will update accordingly if/when I have some more info. for you.

Best wishes

Dave

...and (something new to me!) the Girl Guides on the Island certainly wore the un-named version too, as shown here - second from right, on her left shoulder.
