New CEF badges just picked up
Two nice CEF badges I just picked up, the 13th BTN RHC was advertised as a sweetheart but its 6" X 7" with lugs.
The Seforth is very nice, but I am a little worried, is it a reproduction? What about the crown, why a Victorian crown? Nice markings "STERLING" and "MUTER" with three little diamonds. Very heavy and super detail. Mike |

It is not a victorian crown but the ducal coronet for the Duke of Albany.

If you do a little research, you will see that the coronet and cypher on the Seaforth badge are from Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany who was Queen Victoria's fourth son. The imperial Seaforths were an amalgamation of the 72nd Duke of Albany's Own and the 78th Ross-shire Buffs.
I have seen Muter marked badges in the past. I had one in my collection, but let it go in favour of other badges. I know nothing about the company. Keep in mind that officers' badges were privately made, and there are several manufacturers of Seaforth Highlanders officers' badges. British manufacture does not preclude them being worn by Canadians. Phil

Is the 13th BTN RHC an officers or a large sweetheart badge?

The 13tn Bn is 6 inches by 7 inches? That's huge! So that's where the McAdam Shovels went!! regards Darrell (Nice 13th)

Same question as Darrell. A 6 in x 7 in badge would not only be huge, it would be a weighty piece...
