Default Mystery Object Help please

When I recently won a quantity of WW1 & WW2 badges at an auction the description was words to the effect of,
'Military badges and Mystery Object'
Can anyone tell me what the 'Object' I have is please?
Knowing that some Forum members collect General Militaria I am keeping my fingers crossed.....

Regards

Looks like its part of a heating system?

Water pipe in/out has been cut off.

Just a guess.

I'm thinking it's a part of a coupling for something like a large multi cored cable or something similar.
Does it come apart, is the copper cap fixed.

Hi Steve

As an ex-radar fitter I'm pretty sure it is part of a cavity magnetron for use in radar transmitters. This gives a bit of info plus photos: http://vc.airvectors.net/ttwiz_03.html. You could also contact the Air Defence Museum at the former RAF Neatishead to positively ID it.

All the best

Graham

Well the first image that pops up at the above link is a dead ringer for the original image.
