Default RAOC patch or something else?

The closest that I can get to this colour wise is the red, yellow and dark blue of the RAOC.

Can anyone please confirm?

Don't you mean REME blue | yellow | red.

Possibly, but I was thinking of the colours of the RAOC stable belt seen in the Pre1971 Corps section. It appears that the REME had a stable belt with exactly the same colours.

Nice find.

It's the WW2 regimental flash of the South Lancashire Regiment worn with dark blue to the front. It was recorded worn by the 1st Bn and by the 9th whilst serving with the Orkney and Shetland Defences between Feb 1942 and August 1943 - as the photo shows.
