I was very saddened by this story.

Is it really so hard just to be decent and do the right thing these days?

I tried watching a cricket match once, I just could not stay awake, I've had more enjoyment watching paint dry.

The media have also really blown things out of proportion as well.

What happened to the Corinthian ideal, where fairness and honour came before winning and gain.

I agree with Mick the punishment is too severe, a shorter sentence would have been more appropriate.

However I am pleased it caught two dislikeable characters who have forgot the true spirit of cricket and would ridicule their opponents and take pleasure in their demise, take the comments regarding the international retirement of Jonathan Trott as an example.

Using sandpaper to roughen one side of the ball is wrong, but chewing sugary sweets and using the saliva to polish the shiny side of the ball is wrong to.

Sadly the whole game will now go through a period of examination followed by a raft of new rules...

I quite hope it shakes up the establishment for the better. It also gives the opportunity for other players to stand up and be counted.

Should be for an interesting 2019 Ashes series.

Pre-meditated, agreed, conspired cheating? Lying when called to account? And you think the punishment too severe? I remember players being threatened with life bans for going to play for Kerry Packer! A year? Lenient. Now look at the game; sod the domestic season, sod early test matches, "I'm coining it in too much in the bash and run Indian Premier League, so stuff you".
