Hi, can you tell me what period this title is? Also is there a printed version?

I will venture what I have been told. They wore this in WW2 but not in the field for the same reason they didn't wear Intel. buttons. Security reasons.

The C INT C was formed in 1942, during the Second World War, but only ever had the melton title. No canvas printed version exists. There are a couple of varieties of the melton embroidered titles, and the backing is the main way to date. The title in the image is the black cotton backing, which indicates that it is the earlier pattern.
