Does anyone have a rough date range for anodised badges manufactured by Dowler?

For A/A badges from circa 1950 up to circa 1980, Dowler was taken over by Firmin in 1969 but evidence in Chris March´s book suggests the maker mark was still used afterwards.

That's right Thomas as per the pattern card for anodised aluminium Buglers’ trade badge dated 15th August 1980.

Regards,

Chris

William Dowler still trade as an independent company to-day. They share the same building and manufacturing facilities as Firmin and operate from the same building. The two trading names are obviously retained for tax purposes etc.

Indeed, I don't collect anodised so I was not aware of both marks in use on these badges, I've only seen the latter.

I remember seeing a number of other badge making company names above the side door of the Firmin building in Birmingham. Smith and Wright springs to mind. When im in the area, ill try and get a picture if theyre still up .

There is an entrance to the Firmin building in Mott Street, outside that entrance is the Wm. Dowler & Son. Ltd., Registered Office name plate. The invoices from Dowler show the Mott Street address.

Okay, so is that the actual chronological order for the marks themselves, or, was there some overlap?
