Unidentified Victorian buttons
Good morning
Two buttons, one plated officers. Can anyone identify them? Can anyone also suggest a date period of use? Have looked on the net and in s variety of books but cannot find these. Many thanks Martyn |

Hi Martyn,
I will have a go at the second example. It's a little out of focus but I believe it is a Worcestershire Militia Officer's Tunic Button. Here is a pic of my example and a link to it in my album. http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ctureid=123787 Cheerio, Roy

The first button has a generic design with the cypher of Queen Victoria.
The floppy shank indicates it is for lower ranks. |

Many thanks. I have a set of these. I am wandering if it is something to do with the courts or Royal household.

Many thanks Roger. Yes I think that you are right. Will have to wait until someone recognises it. It's probably as you suggest a universal issue of some kind.
