Default The National Army Museum, Chelsea

I visited the re-opened NAM yesterday. The building interior has been completely refurbished and the displays reorganised with extensive use of audio-visual and touch screen technology. There are still plenty of uniforms, paintings and artifacts and a few vehicles to see.
Badge collectors might be interested in the display of "Trade and Proficiency Badges" which I suspect may be from the Denis Edwards collection.

I wasnt a fan of the "Thanks" button when it was first suggested but now it is no longer available I think it is missed by many.

Tim,

Thanks

Thanks Tim. I hope they have an explanation for all the badges, or do you have to buy Edwards & Langley to find out? Actually, I did buy a copy last time I was there a few years ago.

David,

Thats a great collection. I have memorised their book over the many years I have collected badges worn on the arm and many of those in the display are not in their book, some real beauties.

regards

Unfortunately there is no key or explanation of the badges displayed. You get the impression that it represents "a screen of icons" but there is nothing to press!

Perhaps no one on the staff of the Museum is able to identify all the items of insignia, and no, I am not joking.

P.B.

Close ups of the badges - sorry they will have to be as individual posts as using iPad. Also some overlap.
