Are the maker marks on the MANCHESTERS and Green Howard's J.R.GAUNT.LONDON and measure 15mm?
See http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/makers_marks/gaunt.htm
And scroll down to the bottom!

Thank you. Both seem to have the 'infamous GAUNT'. I have checked my other badges. Only one more with the mark.
Did the makers use the original dies ?

You need to measure the length of the makers mark, 11mm is fine, 15mm is bad.
