Default Inside Troopship SS Quee Mary Dining Hall,28 SEPTEMBER 1944,

© IWM (A 25924) In the main mess hall on board the SS QUEEN MARY (formerly the First Class dining saloon) where more than 2,000 troops can be fed at one sitting. In peacetime it used to take 800 First Class passengers but now sittings go on from 6 am till 9 pm. The wall map at the end used to be illuminated to show diners the course and position of the ship. The ship is preparing to make another Atlantic crossing from Greenock taking wounded American troops back to America whilst wearing her grey white war paint.
