Default RECRUITMENT AND ENLISTMENT IN BRITAIN, 1914-1918

© IWM (Q 30075) Recruits file into a recruiting office ushered in by a Sergeant of the Royal Fusiliers. A carved plaque above the doorway appears to suggest that they are enlisting with 8th Battalion,London Regiment (Post Office Rifles). Probably taken in 1917.

Probably 8th Middlesex Rifle Volunteers, who became London Regiment after 1908.
