Default Army PJI DZ Flash

Just seen the new Army PJI DZ Flash.

16 Bde Colours with Lightbulb on it.

Anyone got any close up pics or know where I can obtain one?

Cheers

Where was it being worn, and I don't mean on the sleeve?

Just seen a video clip of it. 48 seconds in.

http://www.forces.net/news/british-soldiers-take-skies

Only 8 Army personnel qualified to wear it so far. Confirm it's a black lightbulb on 16 AA Bde HQ DZ Flash (maroon/sky blue/maroon).
Damn, another one to add to the wants list.

I notice they were awarded the RAF Half Brevet instead of the Army APJI Wings!
so another wing to add to your army collection.

Tommo,
Thanks for finding and posting the link. I wonder if the black parachute lightbulb on 16 Air Assault Brigade colours is worn as the DZ/FB/TRF of Number 1 Parachute Training School?

The PJI brevet presented to the first eight qualified instructors seems to be on a khaki background for No2 Dress - perhaps there will also be a No1 Dress version - a very small production run!

These eight are PJIs augmenting the RAF PJIs - presumably the Assistant PJI role continues to exist.

Default Army PJIs

Watching the film closely, at the end during the award ceremony, a soldier wearing a small Pegasus on his left arm goes up. He appears to be wearing a white lanyard on his right shoulder, all pointing to a RHA member of 7 Para RHA. However the close up of the brevet then shows RSigs collar dogs. Is this just the film using a better close up sequence of somebody else or is a RSigs unit now also wearing the Pegasus on their No. 2 Dress?

It is an edit, the 7 Para RHA Bdr definitely has ball buttons and RHA collar badges.

Tim,
It is worn as a TRF by the 8 PJI qualified pers who are all part of 16X and not 1 PTS. Although fully qualified PJIs, their role is to focus mainly on the ground training of paras. The APJI role has not been active for a few years now. I will try and confirm with PTS when they stopped using APJIS when back at work next week. One of the Army 8 PJIs is one of "my" AD guys. I can confirm the new wing is on a khaki background and a very small run of them was made.
Regards Matt

The badge I posted an image of is a prototype worn during the initial stages of the course. They are now a production woven item.
