Default Small Norfolk Militia Button To Share

Here you go Chaps,

Proof that small is beautiful...

A very small (15mm) domed open backed gilt (officers) button to the 1st Norfolk Militia (Ripley 161). No back marking but still a little cracker.

This is one of my recent addition and very pleased with it too. I'm thinking the small size might suggest a cuff button (?).

Cheerio,

Roy

Hello Roy

Another lovely quality button to add to your collection.

As you suggest, most likely a cuff button but at various times small buttons could be found on uniform collars and shoulder straps. I think these were all approximately the same size.

Hi Roy, nice button, quite a few of these small buttons turn up ground dug, some with a nutting bacark. Always gilt.

Thank you gents for all your comments.

Small details like this all add up to a greater understanding of these, so all comments are very much appreciated.

It is a little gem this one, so very thrilled to now include it in the collection. Although now I'm on the lookout for a larger version and one with a backmark.

Cheers,

Roy

Thanks for that Jeff.

Please forgive my 'gushing' but another photo session and I got a much nice image, so wanted to once again share it.

Cheers,

Roy
