Default RAAF Combat Controller badge?

Hi there guys

This badge was recently for sale on ebay and advertised as a JBAC badge which is incorrect as no JBAC badge would have a dagger in it. This badge does have e resemblance of a Southern Cross which the JBAC badge does have, but certainly no wings. I thought it may be a Combat Controller badge but the wings are certainly not on that badge either. The fact that it is on a DPCU backing seems to date it as I think the DPCU uniform has now faded out in the RAAF. Is it a fantasy item? Some people think not as there were quite a few bidders for 2 of these badges. Any ideas??

Could be a proto or sample badge.

The seller is Platatac and he makes items for SF units.

Default RAAF Combat Controller badge?

Hi there guys

My apologies - it was advertised as JTAC (not JBAC) which is the name for Combat Controller. However the wings and Southern Cross do not appear do not appear on the JTAC beret badge or brevet. You could be right Michael, maybe a prototype.

The backing is not DPCU. It appears to be Multicam

Yep - its multicam.

I recall Platatac also selling off some metal JTAC prototype wings that he made.
