NATO, Bundeswehr breast shields?
These badges came to me as a bye-product of another purchase. I am unsure exactly what they are but have been tentatively identified using the internet. If they were not worn by British troops they will become available to other forum members.
1) LIVE OAK- something to do with contingency planning in Berlin. 2) AFCENT (Turret & sword) 3) AFNORTH (Longship) 4) CENTAG (Belgian Lion on green NATO shield) 5) EUCOM NATO Training School, Oberammergau (Eagle & torch of learning on blue NATO shield) 6) Unknown knight's helm- Amended "Ecole d'Application Arme Blindée Cavalerie" 7) ENTEC 1st Pattern Green NATO shield on larger shield with multi-coloured symbols 8) Bundeswehr 1 Corps (Black & white Prussian eagle on cross) 9) Unknown red/black shield with archer 10) Unknown red shield with monogram AS & crossed guns. Amended "Bundeswehr Artillery School" Thanks for looking, Stephen. Last edited by badjez; 16-03-18 at 07:07 AM. Reason: Updating information. |

The ENTEC badge is the second pattern, the first pattern has eight Engineer motifs, worn by those RE instructors at the centre. Both the German Artillery badges (9. Artillery School and 10. Army Air Defence School) would have been worn by a least one Royal Regiment of Artillery Liaison Officer, at the schools.
