Tank Corps OSD and Tyneside Scottish
Hi All,
I picked these up yesterday for not a lot, I'm guessing the tank corps is a copy and the Tyneside Scottish is OK but just want to double check. Sorry the photos are side on, they are the right way up on my phone, I'm not sure what has happened. Thanks, Michael |

It is a shame the Tank Corps is missing a blade, notwithstanding, a nice well used example, posted in the wrong section.

Really?
I honestly thought this was a copy, looks like I have a great result then. Thanks a lot, Michael |

It certainly does not look spurious from the photographs you show.

That's brilliant news, thanks a lot.
I take it the Tyneside Scottish is ok? Michael |

Michael,
The TS is I think commonly referred to as 3rd pattern. Perhaps worn late WW1 but more commonly associated with use post WW1. mARK |

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the help. That actually fit's almost perfectly with what I want it for. I have a relative who was a Tank Corps Cpl who became an instructor at their training school then towards the end of 1918 gained a commission with them. It sounds like this is the badge he would have worn. Thanks, Michael |

I think the design was sealed with lugs in the late 1930s when the Bn was re-raised so just pre war.

Hi Michael, this particular badge is based on the J & Co badge. Your badge's reverse is not the same as a J & Co officer's badge. The same badge appears as an other ranks badge, unfortunately this has been copied and I think your example falls into this group, Mike

Thanks a lot Mike, I'll have a proper look on the computer tomorrow, they're a bit small on my phone. I'm sure the pictures will be a big help though.
